Edwin Kaiser

Edwin Charles Kaiser, 89, of Atlantic, passed away Friday, January 5, 2001, at the Atlantic Nursing and Rehab Center.The son of Andrew Charles and Carrie Mabel Wernick Kaiser, Edward was born October 19, 1911, on the family farm near Lewis. Edwin attended country school at Bear Grove #9 and farmed with his father. He married Beulah Belle Hayter of Anita in 1938. They then purchased the family farm and remained there until moving to Atlantic in 1991. Edwin suffered a stroke and entered the Atlantic Nursing and Rehab Center in September of 1997. Edwin was a member of the Fletcher Chapel Methodist Church until its closing and then joined the First United Methodist Church in Atlantic.Edwin is survived by his wife of 62 years, Beulah, of Atlantic; his son, Norman Kaiser and his wife, Shirley, of Massena; a granddaughter, Dori Reno and her husband, Paul, of Paxton, Illinois; two great-grandsons Anthony and Aaron Reno of Paxton, Illinois; three brothers, Roy Kaiser in his wife, Marian, of Springdale, Arkansas, James Kaiser in his wife, Thelma, of Florence, Mississippi, and Duane Kaiser and his wife, and Neva, of Lewis, Iowa; a sister-in-law, Cora Kaiser of Anita; three sisters, Mildred Dory of Rogers, Arkansas, Corinne Gunderson of Auburn, Washington and Dorothy Johnson of Atlantic; and numerous in-laws, nieces and nephews.He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Bernard Kaiser on the USS Houston in WWII; and a brother Earl Kaiser this past December.Roland Funeral Service -- Atlantic, IowaFuneral InformationServices for Edwin were held Monday, January 8, 2001, at 10:30 AM in the Roland Funeral Home in Atlantic, Iowa with Reverend Charles Downing of the First United Methodist Church officiating.Interment was in the Atlantic Cemetery in Atlantic, Iowa.
