Judy Rathman

Judy Rathman, 82, of Atlantic, Iowa, passed away Wednesday, November 5, 2025, at the Exira Care Center.

Judith Ann was born on December 29, 1942, in Anita, Iowa, the daughter of Kenneth and Jessie (Gaines) Gipple. She married Duane Rathman in 1960 and from this union three children were born Jeana, Tracy and Duane, Jr.

Judy accepted Jesus Christ as her Savior and was baptized in the First Baptist Church in Atlantic and was a member there until joining Zion Lutheran Church in Atlantic.

Judy will be deeply missed by her daughter, Jeana Sornson (Jon VanAernam); son, Duane Rathman, Jr.; grandchildren, Samantha Ritchey (Jake), Gage Sornson (Chenice) and Clay Sornson; great-grandchildren, Landon, Dutch and Halen Sornson and Brooks, Everly and Collins Ritchey; brother, Dan Gipple (Pam); nieces and nephews; great-nieces and nephews; many extended family; and very dear friends.

She is preceded in death by her daughter, Tracy Sue Rathman and her brothers, Charles Gipple and Kenneth Gipple.

Visitation with the family present will begin at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, November 8th at Roland Funeral Home in Atlantic, followed by a Celebration of Life Memorial service at 11:00 a.m., with Pastor Kyle McBee of Zion Lutheran Church officiating.

Burial will be in the Atlantic Cemetery.
