Obituary for Josephine M. Johnson

Josephine Johnson, 92, passed away April 4, 2006 at Salem Lutheran Nursing Home in Elk Horn, Iowa. She was born March 17, 1914 in Wiota, IA the daughter of Peter George and Annie Maggie (Jemming) Freilinger. She attended Atlantic schools through the sixth grade. She was married to Lawrence Herman Dryer on April 23, 1930 in Woonsocket, South Dakota. The couple had one child that died at birth. Josephine married Harold Edward Johnson October 14, 1933 in Marysville, MO. There were three children born to the couple. They lived in Atlantic until 1956 when Harold was transferred to Baron, WI; then transferred to California, MO; Carthage, MO; Dexter, MO, and moved back to Atlantic in 1968. Her children commented that their mother will be remembered by family and friends for being very loving. She was a co-operative person who always smiled and never complained. She enjoyed craft work and was known for her special calendars.
