Jeanette Carlson

Jeanette Carlson, 51, of Elk Horn, Iowa, passed away Wednesday, November 27, 2024, at Cass County Memorial Hospital in Atlantic, Iowa.

Jeanette E. was born May 2, 1973, in Atlantic, Iowa and grew up in Anita, graduating in 1993. She was a worker from the beginning and was co-managing McDonald’s within a few years of starting out. She met Brian Carlson through a mutual friend but became his boss when he applied to McDonald’s . . . he laughs that she also got him fired and that was a good thing because it freed him up to pursue a personal relationship with her. She must have liked his sense of humor as they were married September 26, 2015, and lived a number of years in Elk Horn, Iowa. She was very frugal, taking joy in the simple things and full of her strong opinions. Around their home, there were a lot of things she wouldn’t let Brian do because he just didn’t do them quite up to her personal standard. When she went into housekeeping for Cass Health, she found her wheelhouse and absolutely loved her work! In spite of her illness, she was still adamant about going in to her job in mid-November.

Jeanette’s closest family include her husband, Brian; his two children and their families, Anthony (Martha) Carlson and three kids, Alexander, Brayden & Abigail and Brandon & Shiann Carlson and two kids, Ella & Charlie; her mother-in-law, Marcia Carlson; her brother-in-law, Adam Carlson; aunts, uncle, cousins; Grandma, Delores Petersen; extended family; and dear friends made along the way.

A visitation with the family present will be held Tuesday, December 3, from 1-3 p.m., at Roland Funeral Home in Atlantic.
