Obituary for
Nellie Hyndman
Nellie L. Hyndman of the Colonial Manor in Anita, Iowa, passed on Wednesday, February 12, 2003, at the Cass County Memorial Hospital in Atlantic, Iowa at the age of 92.The daughter of John and Jemima (Arnold) Brosam, Nellie was born August 25, 1910 in Effingham, Illinois. She grew up the youngest of fourteen children and attended country school in Illinois. The Brosams moved to Atlantic, Iowa where she lived until she was married to Ross Hyndman and moved to Cumberland. They relocated then in Anita, Iowa where they raised their family while Ross trucked, farmed, and worked for Olsen construction Company out of Sioux City, Iowa. Nellie enjoyed gardening, tending her flowers and was admired for her patient work preparing strawberries and black walnuts that she sold. She liked to play bingo with her friends and to go fishing at Lake Anita with her husband, Ross.She is survived by her daughter, Donna Kostkan and her husband, Ted, of Omaha; her son, Bill Hyndman and wife, Margaret, of Des Moines; thirty-two grandchildren; and many great and great-great-grandchildren.She was preceded in death by her parents; eight brothers and five sisters; her husband, Ross; three daughters, Mae McMorran, Lylene Holmes and Janice Kasper; and one son, Bob Hyndman.Funeral InformationServices for Nellie will be on Saturday, February 15, 2003, at 1:30 p.m. at the Holy Cross Lutheran Church in Anita, Iowa with Pastor George Krengel officiating. Interment will be in the Evergreen Cemetery in Anita, Iowa.
