Nathan Hunter, 17, of Atlantic, passed away Thursday, July 26, 2001, at the Cass County Memorial Hospital in Atlantic, Iowa.The son of Gary Lee Gaunt and June Christine Petty, Nathan was born October 2, 1983 in Atlantic, Iowa. He lived most of his entire life in Atlantic and attended the Atlantic High School. He had been employed with the Atlantic News Telegraph and more recently with McDonalds. He attended the Evangelical Free Church.Nathan is survived by his mother, June Andersen, of Atlantic; his step-father, Rodney Andersen, of Atlantic; his father, Gary Gaunt, of Clarinda; half brothers, Phillip Hunter, and special friend, Heather Hass, of Macedonia, Hans and Stewart Andersen of Atlantic, Brian Gaunt of Corning, and Gary Gaunt, Jr.; a step-brother, Joe Vail, of Corning; maternal grandfather, Merrill Petty, of Atlantic residing in Exira Care Center; grandparents, Robert and Marilyn Andersen, of Exira; great-grandmother, Evelyn Malone, of Windsor, Colorado; one niece, Danyelle; and a number of aunts, uncles and cousins.He was preceded in death by his half-brother, Casey Gaunt; maternal grandmother, Mary Ann Petty; one aunt, Connie Marshall; paternal great grandparents, John and Florence Andersen; paternal great grandfathers, Alvie Akers and Royce Malone; maternal great grandparents, Albert and Madeline Petty and Alfred and Christina Knutsen.Funeral InformationServices for Nathan were held Tuesday, July 31, 2001, at 10:30 AM at the Roland Funeral Home in Atlantic, Iowa with Pastor Terry Schoenfeld of the Evangelical Free Church officiating.
