Jane "Joline" Hunter
Joline Hunter, 78, resident of Atlantic, Iowa passed away on Monday, December 29, 2003 at the Iowa Methodist Hospital in Des Moines, Iowa.Joline was born on July 12, 1925 to Joseph and Towy (Thomas) Torbert in Wapello, Iowa. Joline grew up in Wapello and graduated from the Wapello High School in 1943. She then attended and graduated from Muscatine Business School. Joline was married to John Hunter on August 11, 1944 and from this union three children were born. Joline worked in an ammunition plant during World War II, was secretary at the Washington Elementary School in Atlantic and was a homemaker. She was a member of the Atlantic United Presbyterian Church and active in a number of organizations: O.O.P. Club, Lovely Ladies, Pi Rho Zeta Sorority and many bridge clubs.Joline is survived by two daughters, Rebecca "Becky" Joline Clausen of Indianola, IA and Teresa Karen Towy Crouse of Atlantic, IA and her fiance Douglas Bearinger of Des Moines, IA; one son, Craig Hunter and wife Julie of Darlington, WI; nine grandchildren, Heather Clausen of Loveland, CO, Shannon Clausen of Indianola, IA, Bethany Fichter of Grandby, CO, Daniel Clausen of Indianola, IA, Benjamin Crouse and wife Anabel of Vancouver, B.C., Canada, John Crouse of Atlantic, Haley, Mitchel and Kalyn Hunter of Darlington, WI; and five great-grandchildren, Chelsey, Cole and Cloe Clausen of Indianola, IA, Samantha Fitcher of Grandby, CO and Bailey Crouse of Vancouver, B.C., Canada.She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, John and a brother Craig Torbert at the age of five.Funeral InformationServices for Joline will be held at the United Presbyterian Church on Friday, January 2, 2004, at 11:00 A.M. with Reverend Don Seeger officiating. Interment will be in the Atlantic Cemetery at a later date.
