Obituary for Murl David (bunt) Huddleson

Murl David (Bunt) Huddleson, 87, a resident of the Griswold Care Center, passed away there on Saturday, March 9, 2002.The son of Luther (Mike) Comer and Laura Stella (Murray) Huddleson, Murl was born March 4, 1915 in rural Wiota where he grew up, attended country school at Lincoln Township in Cass County and graduated from the eighth grade in May of 1930. Murl lived and farmed with his brother, Luther D. (Bill) Huddleson, at Wiota and later at Bridgewater. Upon retirement, Murl lived with his sister, Bessie Murphy, in Atlantic for a short while and then moved to Willow Heights where he lived for eleven years. At the time of his death, Murl was living at the Griswold Care Center where he had resided for three years. Murl was a very warm, caring and gentle man who enjoyed reading, farming and working with livestock. He also enjoyed the holidays with his family. He especially enjoyed a trip to Disneyland in California about eleven years ago.Surviving are his sister, Ruth Kief, of Atlantic and numerous nieces and nephews.Preceding him in death were his parents; three brothers, Sam, Floyd (Peal) and Luther (Bill) Huddleson; three sisters, Sadie Jorgensen, Bessie Murphy and Maude (in infancy).Funeral InformationServices for Murl will be held Thursday, March 14, 2002 at Zion Lutheran Church in Atlantic. Iowa at 10:00 A.M. with Pastor Allen D. Hellwege officiating. Interment will be in the Massena Center Cemetery north of Massena, Iowa.
