Obituary for
Arley R. Huddleson
Arley "Buck" Huddleson, age 89, formerly of Adair and Anita, passed away Sunday, April 18, 2004, at the Sunny Knoll Care Centre in Rockwell City, Iowa. Buck was born to George and Wilma (Maas) Huddleson in Cumberland, Iowa, June 23, 1914. He attended grade school in the rural Cumberland area through the 8th grade. Buck farmed in the rural Wiota and Anita areas and on June 3, 1936, he married Gladys Marie Robison in Greenfield, Iowa. In 1950, they moved to Adair where he farmed and raised cattle until he retired. Buck took great pride in his purebred Scotch Shorthorn cattle herd. In 1999, Buck entered the Sunny Knoll Care Centre in Rockwell City and remained there until his death. Buck enjoyed reading western novels, playing pinochle with his friends and his morning coffee with his farming friends. Buck is survived by his wife Gladys Marie; three sons, Billy and wife Alice of Alamo, Texas, Gene and wife Sharon of Stuart, Iowa, and Timothy and wife Darsi of Lytton, Iowa; eleven grandchildren; twenty great grandchildren; one sister Esther Smart of Corning, Iowa; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
