David L. Howard
David L. Howard died of pancreatic cancer on July 24, 2006, in the home of his sister, Elizabeth, in Green Valley, Arizona. He was 71.He attended Washington No. 8 country school for 8 grades, then Lewis, Iowa High School, graduating in 1952. After receiving bachelor and master degrees in pharmacy at the University of Iowa, he moved to New York City where he was Director of Pharmacy at The Brooklyn Hospital and served on the faculty of Brooklyn College of Pharmacy. David was elected to serve two terms as President of the New York State Council of Hospital Pharmacists. In 1973 he took a position as Chief Pharmacist at the Lyndon B. Johnson Tropical Medical Center in Pago Pago, America Samoa. In 1977 he returned to the mainland and worked in various positions in California. After 20 years in San Francisco, he retired to Green Valley, Arizona in 1999. David is survived by two sisters, Barbara Norman of Atlantic and Elizabeth King of Green Valley, Arizona, and two brothers, Dick and Dale, in addition to 16 nieces and nephews. A funeral mass was conducted at St. Andrew"s Episcopal Church, in Tucson, Arizona on Saturday, July 29, 2006.Funeral InformationIN MEMORY OFDavid L.
