Obituary for Kenneth K. Hoegh

Kenneth Hoegh, 79, a long time resident of Atlantic, passed away at the Heritage House Thursday, February 23, 2006. Kenny was born January 17, 1927 in rural Brayton, Iowa, the son of Kearney and Myrtle (Lorensen) Knudsen. His mother was Bertha (Hoegh) Molgaard. He graduated from the Atlantic High School in 1945, served in the United States Army in World War II and then attended college at Northwest Missouri State. Kenny was married to Mary Louise Peterson on May 6, 1951 in Red Oak, Iowa.He was a partner at Hoegh Oil, a parts manager at Lindeman Implement for several years and owned and operated Ken"s Wash and Gas until retiring. He was active in Saint Paul"s Lutheran Church on the church council, Lions Club, Chamber of Commerce and was a volunteer fireman. Kenny will be remembered for his appreciation of his family and his hobbies, bike riding, scuba diving, photography and traveling. He loved his work and watching sporting events. During the past year, the staff and fellow residents of the Heritage House became his extended family.
