Myrna Ardith Hiatt (Starlin)
MYRNA HIATT
Myrna Hiatt, age 87, formerly of Atlantic, Iowa, passed away early Thursday morning, July 5, 2012, at the Loring Hospital in Sac City, Iowa.
Myrna Ardith Starlin was born near Cumberland, Iowa on September 22,1924 to George William and Mary Minerva (Landon) Starlin. She attended school in Atlantic, graduating with the class of 1942.
On November 4, 1942, Myrna was united in marriage to Lyle Earl Hiatt in Maryville, MO. Following their marriage, they lived in Atlantic. She lived at the Allen House for 6 years and in May of 2009, she moved to a nursing home in Lake View, IA. Lyle passed away on July 20, 1986. Myrna was employed by Dr. L. B. Petersen, the Coca Cola plant and by J. C. Penney. She was a member of the Atlantic Gospel Chapel. She enjoyed her garden, being outside and going camping. Myrna was an excellent seamstress. She loved the time spent with grandchildren and great grandchildren.
She is survived by a daughter, Judith Paulsen of Denison, IA; former son-in-law, Charles Paulsen of Lytton, IA; a son, Phillip Hiatt of Rayville, MO; grandchildren: Shelly Trobaugh of Bonney Lake, WA, Michael (Rachell) Hiatt of Scranton, ND, Eric Moore, Maria (Robert) Rea and Sandra Moore, all of Excelsior Springs, MO, Missy (Doug) Lamaak of Denison, IA and Jen (Jason) Schwenke of Williamsburg, IA; 16 great grandchildren; 2 great great-grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews; sisters-in-law Bonnie Starlin of Atlantic, IA and Junette Hiatt of Grand Island, NE, and a brother-in-law, Bill Anderson of LaVista, NE.
She is preceded in death by her parents; husband; daughter-in-law, Linda, brothers; George Starlin, Jr. and Delbert Starlin; sisters, Dorothy Hensel, Evelyn Vale, and Maxine Starlin.
Services for Myrna will be held on Saturday, July 7, at the Roland Funeral Home in Atlantic, at 11:00 am; with a family visitation an hour prior at 10:00 am; and interment in the Atlantic Cemetery. Pastor James Parks, of Williamsburg, Iowa, St. Paul Methodist Church, will officiate.
