Clara Pauline (Bode) Hansen Clara Hansen, a long time resident of Lewis, Iowa, passed away Friday, April 22, 2011, at the Griswold Care Center in Griswold, Iowa at the age of 85. Clara Pauline Bode was born to George and Christina (Dody) Bode on April 2, 1926 in Lewis, Iowa. She attended country school then Lewis High School where she graduated. Clara was married to Harvey Sterling Hansen in Olathe, Kansas. After their marriage they moved to New Mexico then to California where they lived for 25 years before moving to Omaha, NE in 1979. In 1984 they returned to Lewis. Six children were born to them and Clara enjoyed her life as a homemaker for her family. Her greatest hobby was horses. She enjoyed riding them, reading about them and almost everything having to do with horses. She is survived by three children, Victoria Hansen of Atlantic, IA, Jerry Hansen and wife Sie of Moreno Valley, CA and Jacqueline Bowman and husband Earl of Jacksonville, AR; eight grandchildren; one sister, Donna Nyberg of Omaha, NE and one brother, George Bode of Lewis, IA; and several nieces and nephews. Clara was preceded in death by her parents, George and Christina Bode; her husband, Harvey Hansen; three sons, Raymond, Michael and Virgil Hansen; two brothers, Everett and Bill Bode; and one sister Brenda Bowie.Funeral Information There will be an open visitation daily at the Roland Funeral Home in Atlantic, Iowa from 8:00 AM to 5:30 PM. Services for Clara will be held on Wednesday, April 27, at 1:00 PM at the funeral home with interment in the Oakwood Cemetery at Lewis. The family will meet friends one hour before services on Wednesday.
