Arnold Peter Hansen
Arnold Peter Hansen, 89, of rural Atlantic, passed away Sunday, February 3, 2002, at the Cass County Memorial Hospital.The son of Kasper Peter and Martha Katrina (Larson) Hansen, Arnold was born October 23, 1912 near Brayton where his family farmed. Arnold grew up and attended school and later farmed east of Brayton. He owned and operated the Brayton café for a number of years and was involved in various custom farm-related activities. Arnold bought a farm south of Atlantic on Olive Street. He was united in marriage to Thelma Maxine (Newman) Poulin on September 15, 1951, at the farm.Surviving are his wife Maxine of rural Atlantic; three sons, Brian Poulin and his wife June of Mason City, Alan Poulin and his wife Carmalee of Atlantic, and David Hansen and his wife Jean of Atlantic; three daughters, Peggy Bramman and her husband Hank of Manchester, Iowa, Martha Scholl of Atlantic, and Marilyn Jacobson and her husband Stephen of Atlantic; two sisters, Erma Breaux and her husband Art of Exira and Vern Nelson and her husband Don of Atlantic; nineteen grandchildren, Laura Starbuck, Karen Schuttle, Joyce Poulin, Brian Poulin, Jr., Michael Poulin, Lucinda Keller, Kelly Lujan, Kathleen Ratzlaff, Kari Klaes, Bruce Ratzlaff, Corey, Craig and Christopher Scholl, Lyndsey and Joel Hansen, Stephanie, Courtney, Whitney and Justin Jacobs; thirty-five grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews.He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Ernest Hansen (in infancy) and Woodrow Hansen; and three grandchildren, John Poulin, Vincent Esbeck and Paula Raven.Funeral InformationFuneral services for Arnold will be held on Wednesday, February 6, 2002, at the Zion Lutheran Church in Atlantic at 1:30 PM with Pastor Allen D. Hellwege officiating. Interment will be in Southlawn Cemetery. There will be a visitation Tuesday evening, February 5, from 7:00 to 8:00 PM at the Roland Funeral Home.
