Lucile Gladys Goeken
Lucile Gladys Goeken, 88, a resident of 300 Lincoln Street in Marne who had been in ill health for several years, died unexpectedly Tuesday afternoon, September 11, 2001, at her home. The daughter of Marx Emil and Meta (Rossmann) Reimer, Lucile was born August 11, 1913 in Lincoln Township, 5 miles South of Walnut, where she grew up and attended Lincoln elementary school. She was united in marriage to Robert L. Geoken of June 23, 1946, in Walnut. Lucile owned and operated the Parkway Market in Marne for 41 years, retiring in December of 2000. She was a member of the Marne United Methodist Church; the Marne Liberty Chapter # 230, Order of the Eastern Star; Past Matrons Club; the Marne Garden Club; Marne Elderberries; and the Marne United Methodist Women.Surviving are her husband R.L. Goeken of Marne; one brother Marion G. Reimer and his wife Margaret of Atlantic; two sisters-in-law, Velma D. Reimer of Sun City, Arizona and Betty Reimer Lawton and her husband Bill of Marne; and a number of cousins, nieces and nephews.She was preceded in death by her parents; six sisters, Viola I. Paulsen, Eleanor I. Nelson, Geneva Yongkee, Winifred H. Paulsen, Geraldine Reimer and a sister in infancy; six brothers, Clarence H. Reimer, Melvern M. Reimer, Raymond Reimer, Everett E. Reimer, Orville V.
