Craig Gilbert

Craig Gilbert, 57, longtime resident of Atlantic, Iowa died unexpectedly in his home on Thursday, October 18, 2007. Craig was born on May 16, 1950, the son of Vernon and Marjorie Mae (Zellmer) Gilbert in Atlantic, Iowa. He attended Atlantic schools, graduating with the Atlantic High School Class of 1968. Craig was baptized and confirmed in the United Church of Christ in Atlantic where he was a member. He was active in FFA (Future Farmers of America); showed cattle in the Cass County 4 H Club; and was employed as a farmhand. He enjoyed family travels and camping; especially loved his dog "Missy"; and was proud of his new pick up truck. Craig will be remembered as pleasant and friendly. He was congenial and a great one to visit with folks.He is survived by his father and step-mother, Vernon and Adeline Gilbert of Atlantic; his step siblings Bruce Barlow and wife Coretha of Independence, Missouri, Brian Barlow and wife Debbie of Shelley, Idaho, Brad Barlow and wife Laurie of Hanna, Wyoming, Denise Barlow of Phoenix, Arizona and Brent Barlow and wife Lisa of Blue Springs, Missouri; Jeannette White and husband Don of Muscatine, IA, Judy Madden and husband Larry of Atlantic, Joyce Juhler of Omaha, NE, Jean Templeman and husband Marvin of Atlantic and Jerry Juhler and wife Becky of Wiota; and several aunts, uncles and cousins.
