Dennis Gettler

Dennis Ray Gettler, 47, of Greenfield passed away April 20, 2001, at the Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines.The son of Walter Nelson and Elaine Katherine (Wedemeyer) Gettler, Dennis was born July 5, 1953 in Atlantic, Iowa. He was reared in the Adair -- Casey area and graduated from Adair -- Casey High School in 1971. His marriage to Sheryl Burg took place November 2, 1974, and they lived mostly in Adair County where he owned and operated the Dennis Gettler Construction Company.Surviving are his wife, Sheryl, of Greenfield; two sons Joshua Adam Gettler and Isaac Daniel Isaiah Gettler; one daughter, Brooke Lee Gettler; his father, Walter Gettler from Bridgewater; his mother Elaine Gettler from Adair; one sister, Karen Grant and her husband, Jim, of Anita; six brothers, Duane Gettler and his wife, Mary of Adair, Donald Gettler and his wife, Derinda, of Casey, Delmar Gettler and his wife, Marie, of Casey, Dean Gettler and his wife, Sharon, of Emerson, Daryl Gettler and his wife, Sherry, of Adair, David Gettler and his wife, Kristen, of Adair; two-step brothers, Clayton Winthers of Des Moines, and Jason Winthers of Anita; two half brothers, Walter Gettler Jr. and Jessie Gettler both of Bridgewater.Funeral InformationServices for Dennis were held Monday, April 23, 2001, at 10:30 AM at the First Assembly of God Church in Atlantic with Pastor Charles Moran of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma officiating and thoughts and prayers by Pastor Pat Henderson of the Living Word Family Church in Greenfield.Interment was in the Atlantic Cemetery, Atlantic, IA.
