Kim Ferry, 68, of Earlham, Iowa, died on Sunday, February 23, 2020, in rural Madison County, Iowa, doing what he loved, riding his motorcycle.
Kim was born November 14, 1951, in St. Louis, Missouri to James Ferry and Catherine Pickett.
Kim graduated from Bliss High School, Bliss, Idaho in May of 1970. In January of 1971, he was drafted into the U.S. Army and earned a rank of SP4.
Kim’s love of motorcycles began at age 10, when he built his first motorcycle. From that time, his love only grew for anything with two wheels and a motor. He had a 44-year career as an automobile and motorcycle mechanic.
Kim and Rita were married on October 21, 1984 at the Little Brown Church in Nashua, Iowa.
Kim is survived by his wife, Rita Wood; daughter, Chilan (David) Martes; six grandchildren, Hailey, Alleyna, Madeline, Joshua, Anna and Olivia; his brother, Rob (Teri) Ferry; nephew, Jon; and niece, Jennifer.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, February 29, 2020, at the Earlham Community Building, with military honors by the Earlham American Legion Post #158. A lunch will be served immediately following the service.
