Obituary for Warren O. Evans

Warren O. Evans, 87, of Atlantic, Iowa passed away at the Cass County Memorial Hospital Thursday morning, January 13, 2005.Warren O. Evans was born January 29, 1917 in Adams County, Iowa to George E. and Velma (Westrope ) Evans. He lived in rural Lincoln township before moving to Atlantic . Warren attended a rural country school and Cumberland High School. On February 9, 1939 he was united in marriage to Oma Grace Cramer. Warren enjoyed working with machines and was a machinist, mechanic, and inventor. He ran his own machine shop for many years. He later worked as a machinist for NAPA in Atlantic after their move there. Warren was a member of the Lincoln Center United Methodist Church and enjoyed gardening, wood carving and fishing.Warren is survived by four children, ReNae Vanden Broek of Des Moines, IA, Terry Evans and wife Kay of Corning, IA, Donna Kusik and husband Jeff of Greeley, CO and Kay Govig and husband Merlin of Clive, IA; eight grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; 5 step great grandchildren; many nieces, nephews and friends.He was preceded in death by his wife, Oma; his parents; one brother, Stanley Evans and a great grandson Seth Culver.Services for Warren will be Saturday, January 15, at 1:00 P.M. at the Roland Funeral Home in Atlantic with Reverend Gerald Wiser officiating. Visitation also be on Saturday, January 15, from 12:00 noon to 1:00 P.M.
