Obituary for Oma G. Evans

Oma Grace Evans, age 84, passed away Tuesday, November 16, 2004 at the Heritage House in Atlantic, Iowa. Oma was born in Taylor County to Marion and Jennie (Leonard) Cramer on December 21, 1919. She attended country schools and graduated from the Corning High School in Corning, Iowa in 1938. She was married to Warren O. Evans in Albany, Missouri on February 9, 1939. When they lived in Lincoln Township, Oma belonged to the Lincoln Center United Methodist Church, the Ladies Aid and she was a 4-H leader. Warren and Oma later moved to Atlantic and both were living at Heritage House. Oma enjoyed life as a homemaker and loving wife, mother and grandmother. She is survived by her husband Warren; 4 children, ReNae Vanden Broek of Des Moines, IA, Terry Evans and wife Kay of Corning, IA, Donna Kusik and husband Jeff of Greeley, CO and Kay Govig and husband Merlin of Clive, IA; 8 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; 5 step great grandchildren; one sister, Elda Jones of Wayne, NE and many nieces, nephews and friends. Oma was preceded in death by her parents; three sisters, May Jackson and Ann Harden, Ida Rose Cramer in infancy; one brother, Guy Cramer and one great grandson, Seth Culver. Services for Oma will be Friday, November 19, 2004 at the Roland Funeral Home at 10:00 AM with Reverend Gerald Wiser officiating. Visitation will be from 7:00 to 8:00 PM Thursday evening. Burial will be in the Lincoln Center Cemetery south of Cumberland.
