Obituary for Tateus "Nick" Esechu

TATEUS "NICK" ESECHU Tateus "Nick" Esechu, 51, of Atlantic and formerly of Chuuk Island in Micronesia died unexpectedly at his cousin's home in Fort Dodge, Iowa on Sunday, July 26, 2009. Tateus was born the son of Francisco and Rosali Esechu on April 15, 1958 in Chuuk State. He grew up there and was married to Elsie Sedina in Chuuk Island. The couple has five children. He was employed in construction as a steel worker and has lived in Atlantic for nearly two years. Nick liked to fish and to surf. He was of the Catholic faith. His survivors include his wife Elsie Sedina-Esechu; his children, Mayson, Isak, En, Jelta and Resu; and a sister in Chuuk Island. He lived with the Buliche, Mualia and Sedina families in Atlantic, Iowa. He was preceded in death by his parents and grandparents.Funeral Information Services are pending and will include open visitation from 8:00 to 5:00 daily at Roland Funeral Home in Atlantic until family will meet with relatives and friends from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. Saturday August 1, also at Rolands. Pastors Breimer Kovac and Ansherson William will officiate during a brief service beginning at 6:00 P.M. There will be a committal service with Nick's family and friends present in Chuuk State.
