HELEN M. ELWOODHelen Elwood, 92 , passed on Friday, March 25, 2005, at the Atlantic Nursing and Rehab Center in Atlantic, Iowa. Helen was born, the daughter of James and Mary (Olsen) Lind, on July 21, 1912, in Franklin Township. She lived in Norway Center area southeast of Atlantic, her entire life, until entering the Atlantic Nursing and Rehab Center. Helen was married to Howard William Elwood, in Osceola, Iowa on February 10, 1951. Helen enjoyed the outdoors where she cared for flowers, gardened and loved raising pet chickens. She was also an excellent cook.Helen is survived by her brother-in-law, Robert Elwood of Atlantic; two sisters-in-law, Viola Lind of Atlantic and Doris Wheatley of the Harlan area; two nieces, Judy Jurgensen and her husband, John of Millard, NE, and Mary Siebles and her husband, Mike of Parker, Colorado; four nephews, Dale Lind and his wife, Dianne of Atlantic, Jim Lind of New Virginia, Ronald Wheatley of Harlan and Donald Wheatley of Shelby.Helen was preceded in death by her parents; her husband and three brothers, George Lind, Carl Lind and Leslie Lind.Funeral InformationVisitation Services: Mon, Mar 28, 6:30 - 7:30 Funeral: 3/29/2005, 10:30:00 AM Burial: Atlantic Cemetery
