Gary Duskin

Gary Lynn Duskin, age 57, formerly of Lewis and Anita, Iowa, has passed away at his home in Mt. Prospect, Illinois on February 18, 2005Gary was born February 22, 1947 in Atlantic, IA to Cecil and Evelyn Williams Duskin. He lived in Lewis and attended school in Lewis and Adair-Casey graduating from Adair-Casey in 1966. In high school he worked at the local grocery store in Anita. He did custom work with his parents. After graduating, he entered the United States Army. Gary served in Viet Nam and was honorably discharged in the fall of 1968. Gary then attended Northwest Missouri State University graduating in 1972. He moved to the Chicago area and was employed at Allstate Insurance Company for 27 years until October of 2004. On June 27, 1970, Gary was married to Karen Sue Meyers in Maryville, MO. He enjoyed doing woodwork and making crafts for craft shows.He is survived by his wife, Karen of Mt. Prospect, IL; two sons, Craig Duskin of St Paul, MN and Scott Duskin of Mt. Prospect, IL; his mother, Evelyn Duskin of Atlantic; one brother, Roger Duskin of Atlantic and one sister, Sandra Schmeling and her husband Bruce of Casey, IA; nieces, nephews and other relatives.He is preceded in death by his father, Cecil Duskin in 1994 and one sister, Diana in infancy.Services for Gary will be held Thursday, February 24, 2005 at the Roland Funeral Home in Atlantic, IA with a military burial in the Atlantic Cemetery.
