Obituary for Boyd Wesley Dolch

Boyd Dolch Boyd Dolch, of Cumberland, Iowa, passed away at his home on November 29, 2009 at the age of 76. Boyd was born near Lyman, Iowa on January 19, 1933 to Walter and Laura (Shaffer) Dolch. He grew up in the Lyman area and graduated from Griswold High School in 1951. He was united in marriage to Janet England on May 1, 1953 at the Nobel Center Church in Lyman, IA and they were married over 50 years. Boyd served in the Korean War from 1953 to 1955. They farmed near Lyman and later moved to a farm north of Cumberland. He was a long time member of the Cumberland Methodist Church and the Cumberland Lions Club where he enjoyed their many activities. Boyd worked part-time for Farmers Mutual Insurance as a crop adjuster and drove a school bus for the Cumberland School District. Today we rejoice in the knowledge that Boyd has passed the barrier of time as we know it and is forever at home with the Lord Our Savior and his grandson, Jeff Harris. He is survived by his wife Janet of Cumberland, IA; three children, sons, Randy Dolch of Cumberland, IA and Max Dolch and wife Terri of Council Bluffs, IA; one daughter Deb Harris and husband Kelly of Sargeant Bluff, IA; five grandchildren, Brian and wife DeLana Harris, Matthew Dolch, Laura Dolch, Tyler Dolch and Spencer Dolch; a brother Gale and wife Maxine of Atlantic; mother-in-law Maxine England of Lyman, IA; and several nieces and nephews. Boyd was preceded in death by his parents; one grandson Jeff Harris; one sister Bernice Adams and father-in-law Shelby England, Jr.Funeral InformationThere is open visitation daily from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. on week days at the Roland Funeral Home in Atlantic, Iowa and a visitation with family on Sunday, December 6, from 4:00 - 5:00 p.m. with the body present. A graveside service for Boyd will be held at a later date at the Greenwood Cemetery at Cumberland, Iowa.
