William "Bill" M. Dimig
William “Bill” Martin Dimig, the only child of Vincent and Margret (McMahon) Dimig passed away suddenly at Bergan Mercy Medical Center in Omaha on December 24, 2017, at the age of 78. Bill was born December 15, 1939, in Council Bluffs, Iowa, and in 1945, moved to Atlantic, Iowa, when his parents opened Dimig Drug. He attended Atlantic Public Schools, and graduated with the Class of 1958. He went on to attend Creighton School of Pharmacy; graduating in 1963. Bill was employed as a pharmacist in Council Bluffs, several Atlantic pharmacies, including Cass County Memorial Hospital, and was currently a substitute pharmacist at Stoner Drug in Villisca, where he had worked since 2001.
Bill was a quiet, dependable, reserved person with a smile for everyone. He was an avid reader and enjoyed sports on TV. He was a faithful member of SS Peter and Paul Catholic Church, ushering on Sunday mornings for the past 10 years. He was quietly generous to numerous Christian charities.
Bill was preceded in death by his parents, and is survived by his cousins from the Dimig and Dowd families.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, January 6, 2018, at SS Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Atlantic. A luncheon will be held immediately following the service at the Parish Center. Burial will be held prior to the service at 10:00 a.m. at the SS Peter and Paul Catholic Cemetery.
