Diane Dea

On the morning of October 19, 2021, Diane Dea passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by family at the age of 72. She fought cancer but ultimately succumbed to its ever-increasing grip. Diane faced her future, was at peace, and didn’t want anyone to be sorrowful as she as going to a better place. Diane was in the nursing profession all of her adult life from Candy Striper, a Nurses’ Aid, LPN, RN and a certified ER Nurse with 29 years of service at Cass County Memorial Hospital.

She was born on April 6, 1949, and raised in Oskaloosa, Iowa, with her three brothers and three sisters. She always kept track of them and their families as well as her own. She was blessed enough to have two children and four grandsons that were her whole world.

Diane was married to Pat Dea on August 19, 1969 at the Assembly of God Church in Oskaloosa. They had two children William Franklin Dea and Patricia Diane Mundorf. She is also survived by her husband, Pat Dea; grandchildren, Declan and Douglas Dea and Gage and Miles Mundorf; two brothers; and three sisters.

She was preceded in death by her father, John, mother, Edna Vauline, and brother, Ronnie “Jake” Hughes.

Visitation with the family present will be from 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m., Friday, October 29th at Roland Funeral Home in Atlantic

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, October 30, 2021, at Roland Funeral Home in Atlantic. Burial will be in the Atlantic Cemetery.
