Everett W. Crum
Everett W. Crum, 91, of Anita, Iowa, passed away Sunday, July 6, 2003 at the Colonial Manor in Anita.Everett W. Crum was born June 23, 1912 in Opheim, Montana to John Perry and Marie (Lechner) Crum and attended the Cumberland school system. He was employed by his brother-in-law, Bill Lawton, for a number of years. Everett worked in a factory in Des Moines making uniforms during World War II and also worked as a farm hand. He always enjoyed playing his harmonica, going fishing, playing ping-pong and cribbage.He is survived by a brother-in-law Bill Lawton and his wife Betty of Marne, Iowa; a sister-in-law Peggy Crum Kilroy of West Des Moines, Iowa; several nieces and nephews, Kenneth Lawton and his wife Jean of Lewis, Iowa, Carol Johnson and her husband Darwin of Breckenridge, Colorado, Mick Crum and his wife Pat of Ankeny, Iowa, Mark Crum and his wife Kathy of Urbandale, Iowa and Tom Crum of Des Moines, Iowa.Everett was preceded in death by his parents John and Marie Crum; one sister Eva M. Lawton and one brother Ray Crum.Funeral InformationA memorial service will be held for Everett at the Colonial Manor in Anita on Thursday, July 10, 2003, at 11:15 a.m. with Reverend Chuck Smith of the First Baptist Church officiating. Interment will be in the Newlons Grove Cemetery at 10:30 a.m. prior to services.
