Obituary for Juanita Arlene Christianson

JUANITA ARLENE CHRISTIANSON Juanita Christianson, 75, of Atlantic, slipped away peacefully at Atlantic Nursing and Rehab Center on Saturday morning, June 06, 2009, in Atlantic, Iowa. Juanita was born the daughter of Marion J. and Lelia (Lile) Wolf in Exira, Iowa on January 27, 1934. While growing up, she attended Exira Community Schools. She became active in the food industry for most of her life. Juanita was wed to Jens P. Hansen at the Christian Church in Exira, Iowa September 24, 1950. To this marriage was born two daughters and a son. She was later married to Jack G. Christianson August 24, 1967. She was employed as a waitress and cook until owning and operating the Silver Fox Saloon in Brayton from 1982 until 1987. She then cooked at Elks Lodge in Atlantic until 1993. She was a charter member of American Business Women; and was confirmed in the Lutheran Church. Her friends and family will remember Juanita as being of very strong will and of faith. She was a lover of cooking and baking. She was a blessing as a wonderful cook and especially enjoyed baking cookies at Christmas time. Her survivors include her son Dennis Hansen and his wife Deb of Lewis; her daughters, Pat Hansen of Atlantic and Joni Bieker of Atlantic; sisters, Ethel Smith and husband Don of Atlantic and Gloria Olsen and husband Larry of Oakland Manor in Oakland; brothers, Arnold Wolf of Shelby, North Carolina and Ronald Wolf of Boise, Idaho; grandchildren, Tami and Rusty Wlliamson of Anita, Ashley and Karla Bieker of Exira and Dana and Dennis Mohr, Jr. of Atlantic; great grandchildren, Jay and Tyler Mohr, Austin and Tanner Williamson and Hailey Bieker; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and their families and friends. She is preceded in death by her mother and father; husbands, Jack Christianson and Jens Hansen; two grandchildren, Kelly Marie Hansen and Casey Lee Hansen; two brothers, Donald Wolf and Gerald Wolf; and two sisters, Vivian Larsen Munch and Phyllis Krueger.Funeral Information There will be open visitation from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 pm. daily and family will meet with friends from 7:00 to 8:30 on Tuesday evening, June 9 at Roland Funeral Home in Atlantic.
