Shirley Chisman
Shirley Chisman of Scottsdale, Arizona, formerly of Atlantic, Iowa passed away on Thursday, June 11, 2009 at the Hospice of Arizona Pueblo Norte at the age of 83. Shirley was born to Donald Alfred and Margaret (Jones) Woolsey on October 15, 1925 in Atlantic, Iowa. She attended school in Atlantic and graduated from the Atlantic High School. She was a secretary for the government for 25 years working for the Navy in Omaha, Nebraska and then for the Army in Ft. Lewis, Washington. On May 28, 1948, Shirley was united in marriage to Chester L. Chisman in Mondamin, Iowa. Chester passed away on September 9, 1005. Shirley will be remembered for her loving, gentle, sweet spirit and will be greatly missed. She is survived by a son Todd Chisman of Phoenix, Arizona; two sisters, Ramona Smith of Chandler, Arizona and Janene Spring of Dayton, Ohio; and two grandchildren. Shirley is preceded in death by her husband, Chester; her parents, Donald and Margaret; two brothers, Gerald Woolsey and Donald Woolsey.Funeral InformationA funeral service for Shirley will be on Friday at 10:30 A.M. at Roland Funeral Home in Atlantic. Pastor Don Seeger of the First United Presbyterian Church of Atlantic will officiate. There will be open visitation from 8:00 to 5:00 daily at Rolands. Family will meet with friends at the funeral service. Interment will take place in the S.S. Peter and Paul Catholic Cemetery following the service.
