Obituary for
Lottie S. Caslow
Lottie Senith Caslow, 92, of Atlantic passed away December 15th at Cass County Memorial Hospital in Atlantic, Iowa. Lottie was born September 29, 1915, in St. Clair County Missouri (near Lowry City), to Charles H. Tipton and Hannah S. Jones Tipton. She moved to California at the age of four and graduated from Placer County High School near Auburn, California. She moved to Yale, Iowa in 1933 to help an older sister operate a telephone office. On December 21, 1935 she was united in marriage to Monte D. Caslow in Newton. They were the parents of one son Steve Dwight Caslow. The couple moved to Atlantic in 1937 and were associated with Harry and Dick Cook at Cook and Caslow Drug for many years. She has lived in Atlantic for over 70 years and been an active member of the Atlantic First United Methodist Church for nearly that long. She has enjoyed her family, book-keeping, mowing the yard, horseback riding, target shooting, playing bridge, swimming, fishing, and traveling.She is survived by her son Steve, daughter-in-law Theresa and grandson Scott, all of Atlantic; step-grandchildren Jennifer Allen of Iowa City, Dan Leinen of Glenwood, and Joe Leinen of Atlantic. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Monte, two sisters Nina Thornburg of Churdan, IA and Esther McNutt of Longmont, CO; two brothers Reuel Tipton of Des Moines and Edgar Tipton of Auburn, CA; and one half brother Bill Shaw of Auburn, CA.Funeral InformationFuneral services for Lottie will be held on Thursday, December 20, 2007 at 11:00 AM at the Roland Funeral Home in Atlantic, Iowa with Pastor Gary DeGeest of the First United Methodist Church in Atlantic and C. G. Lindeman of Lyman officiating.
