Carol (Spieker) Elliott

Carol (Spieker) Elliott, 85, of Atlantic, Iowa, passed away Tuesday, December 24, 2024, at Cass County Memorial Hospital in Atlantic.

Carol Joan was born on July 31, 1939, in Carroll, Iowa, the daughter of Ralph and Helen (Worthington) Spieker. She went to country school and graduated from Atlantic High School in 1957.

On December 12, 1959, she was married to Bernie Eugene Elliott in Colorado Springs, Colorado. The couple was blessed with four children and she was a homemaker. During Bernie’s 20 years of service in the military Carol made every move with him; she was always by his side.

The hobbies she enjoyed were reading, embroidery, working in her garden, doing word searches and SUDUKO puzzles. Two of Carol’s favorite TV shows to watch after supper were M*A*S*H and The Andy Griffith Show. One of her favorite things to do was to sit on their south porch overlooking the pond and watching all the wildlife which included the birds, geese and deer.

Carol is survived by her husband of 65 years, Bernie; daughters, Candie Elliott and Bernice (Gary) Baier; son, Ralph Andrew (Laura Lou Wilson) Elliott; grandchildren; Matt Ferrell, Hillary Ferrell, Brandon Baier, Jesse (Kourtnie) Baier, Nicole Baier, Logan Elliott, Katie (Tyler Scott) Ehrenhard, Christopher (Amanda) Pross and Stephanie Santana; her great-grandchildren; brother-in-law, Mike (Kay) Elliott; sisters-in-law, Isabell Herring, Ruth Kosbar, Linda Elliott and Sharie Elliott; and many nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Ralph and Helen Spieker; parents-in-law, Bert and Eunice Elliott; daughter, Roxanne Pross; brothers-in-law, Pat Elliott and John Elliott; and sisters-in-law, Carol Bell and Betty (Lee) Bass. 

Open visitation, with no family present, will be available from 8:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m., Friday, December 27th at Roland Funeral Home in Atlantic. A private family funeral service will be held with burial in the Atlantic Cemetery.
