Carl Yowell

Carl Yowell, 47, of Atlantic, Iowa, passed away Friday, October 11, 2024, at his home.

Carl Albert was born on February 28, 1977, in Hamburg, Iowa, the son of Jean Peterson. Following graduation from high school in Sioux City in 1995 he moved to Atlantic. He worked in food service all his life and for the last 18 years at Pizza Ranch in Atlantic. 

Carl’s favorite TV show was M*A*S*H, he raised tropical fish and he spent most of his spare time playing games and building his Warhammer figurines. He loved music and knew all the older bands, always wanting to learn how to play the Bass guitar. Carl looked forward to hanging out with friends, whether it be gaming, going out to eat together or giving them a ride in his little pick up, “Kermit the Truck.” He enjoyed traveling; the most memorable trip being one to Mexico visiting the towns of Tulum, Chichen Itza, and Cozumel. 

Carl was a kind and caring person; a good soul! He will be deeply missed by his mother, Jean Peterson; brother, John Yowell; and many friends.

He is preceded in death by his brother, Daniel “Bear” Yowell; grandparents, Okay and Marie Peterson; and grandmother, Marinelle Yowell.

Open visitation, with no family present, will be held from 12:00 p.m., - 5:00 p.m., Thursday, October 17th at Roland Funeral Home.

Visitation with the family present will begin at 1:00 p.m., Friday, October 18th at Roland Funeral Home in Atlantic followed by the Funeral Service at 2:00 p.m. 

Burial will be in the Atlantic Cemetery.
