Obituary for Lillian Carl

Lillian Carl, a life-time resident of Atlantic, Iowa, passed away Tuesday, November 16, 2004 at the Homestead Rehab Center in Lincoln, Nebraska at the age of 91. She had resided in Lincoln for the past four years. Lillian was born to Henry and Caroline Cecilia (Paasch) Jacobs on August 11, 1913 in Walnut, Iowa where she grew up and graduated from the Walnut High School in 1929. On November 19, 1935, she was married to Burton Richard Carl in Papillion, NE. They lived in Harlan, IA before moving to California for a year. They returned to Harlan and then moved to Atlantic in 1941. Burton passed away in 1995 and in May of 2000, Lillian moved to Lincoln. She was past president of the B.P.O.E. - Does. Lillian took great joy and pride in her family and was an avid card player. She worked at the Forum Clothing Store as a tailor for a number of years and was a member of the First United Methodist Church. Lillian is survived by two sons, Dick Carl and wife Jan of Plano, TX and Bob Carl and wife Donna of Madison, IN; two daughters, Caren Wagner and husband Frank of Lincoln, NE and Cherie Carl of Howell, NJ.; 10 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews.
