SAVANNAH CANNON
Savannah Cannon, 28, of Atlantic and formerly of Afton, Iowa, passed away unexpectedly at her home in Atlantic on Friday, December 27, 2013.
The daughter of Marlene Kay Cannon, she was born September 7, 1985, in Creston, Iowa. She attended East Union Community Schools and graduated from Nevada High School. Savannah went on to become a team leader for Resource Industries, a division of Cass Incorporated in Atlantic. Her friends have joined her family, being shocked and saddened by her sudden passing. Her friends have expressed that they were impressed and touched by Savannah’s early handing out of thoughtfully written Christmas cards that were delivered to them promptly after Thanksgiving.
She enjoyed being active with the Special Olympics, participating in Bowling, Track & Field, Bocceball, Volleyball and Basketball and went to State. She was an avid fan of the Iowa Hawkeyes and the Green Bay Packers. She loved to play soccer, basketball, bocceball and cards. Another great joy in her life was helping with the elderly. Other hobbies were crafts, scrap booking & making bracelets. She will be remembered for her beautiful smile and contagious laugh. She was kind hearted and loved her family & friends. A great memory was going on a class trip to Washington DC and she loved to travel to Adventureland & the Iowa State Fair.
