Delbert Hugh Brown
Delbert Hugh Brown, 69, a long-time resident of Cumberland, Iowa passed away Tuesday, July 3, 2001, at his home.The son of George and Burnidette Irene (Doty) Brown, Delbert was born February 22, 1932 in Cass Township, Iowa. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. Delbert was united in marriage to Betty Jane Reed, December 23, 1955, in the Massena Methodist Church. He was an independent semi-truck driver for many years.Delbert is survived by his wife Betty Jane of Cumberland; four sons, Delbert Jr. and his wife Andrea of Creston, Iowa, Donald and Mark of Creston, Iowa, Paul and his wife Brenda of Atlantic; two daughters, Naomi Namanny and her husband Kreig of Anita, Iowa and Paula Davis of Mapleton, Iowa; nine grandchildren, James Namanny and his wife Elizabeth of Cumberland, Crystal Namanny of Anita, Iowa, Aaron, Shelly and Ryan Brown all of Atlantic, Tia Brown of Murray Iowa, Machelle Peck of Mapleton, Iowa, Kayla Peck of Harlan and Jeremy Davis of Mapleton, Iowa; three brothers, Neal Brown and wife Evelyn of Corning, Dennis Brown and wife Karen and George Brown and wife Betty all of Cumberland; four sisters, Jeanette Hansen and husband Clayton (Bud) of Grand Island, Nebraska, Rosella Dahlin of Pasadena, California, Carol Dorsch of Omaha, Nebraska and Burnidette Edwards of Pollock, Louisiana; and a number of nieces and nephews.He was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Mary Helen; a son, Roger; and two brothers, Eugene and Lee Brown.Funeral InformationServices for Delbert were held Saturday, July 7, 2001, at 10:30 AM at the Methodist Church in Cumberland, Iowa with Reverend Robert G.
