Obituary for
John M Brosnahan
John Brosnahan, 91, of Atlantic passed Thursday, August 20, at Heritage House in Atlantic after a long and full life.
John was born on July 30, 1924, in Minot, North Dakota, the son of Henry and Catherine (Ehr) Brosnahan. After serving in the United States Navy during WWII, he graduated from Saint Thomas College in St. Paul, Minnesota. He married Elizabeth "Betty" Brown on July 17, 1948, at St. Patrick's Church in Eau Claire, Wisconsin. John spent his entire career with the International Harvester Company. He was a lifelong member of the Elks Lodge. Playing golf and dominos were favorite pastimes, and he was often heard touting his Irish heritage.
John is survived by his son, Michael (Ellen) Brosnahan of Naperville, IL; daughter, Barbara (William) Kunzweiler of Superior, CO; grandchildren, Kathleen (Robert) Culen, Brady (Emily) Brosnahan, Jennifer Kunzweiler, and Tracy Kunzweiler; great-grandchildren, Margaret and Owen Toennis, and Francesca and Oliver Brosnahan; and sister, Elizabeth Brosnahan-Broome.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Betty; parents, Henry and Catherine Brosnahan; and sisters, Mary Brosnahan and Catherine Martin.
Reciting of the Rosary will be held at 5:30 p.m., Friday, August 21, 2015, at Roland Funeral Home, followed by visitation with the family from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, August 22, 2015, at Saints Peter and Paul Catholic Church, with Father Chori Seraiah, celebrant. Burial will be in the Saints Peter and Paul Catholic Cemetery. A luncheon will follow the burial at the Catholic Parish Center.
Memorials may be made to the Heritage House Good Samaritan Fund in Atlantic.
