Obituary for
Joe Bringleson
Joe Bringleson, 82, of Atlantic passed away Saturday, January 23, 2016, at Atlantic Specialty Care.
The son of Joe and Minnie Emelia (Swanson) Bringleson, he was born October 18, 1933, in Kiron, Crawford County, Iowa. He graduated from Atlantic High School and served in the United States Air Force during the Korean War. After his military service, he moved to Council Bluffs and worked as a machinist at Vicker's in Omaha for several years. After living out of state for a period of time he returned to Iowa in 1992, and cared for Patricia Hiatt for 10 years until her death in 2002. He was happy watching Westerns or solving cross word puzzles. His green thumb was legendary and he enjoyed working with flowers and gardening. Building and woodworking were second nature to Joe; there was nothing he couldn't do.
Joe is survived by his brothers, Norman of Atlantic and Robert of Council Bluffs; his sister, Virginia Kock of Council Bluffs; step-daughter, Angie (Glen) Jordan of Casey; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his sisters, Ada and twin, Mary; his son, Adam in 1994; his former spouse, Patricia Hiatt; sister-in-law, Mary; and brother-in-law, Clarence Kock.
Per Joe's wishes cremation has taken place and no services are planned.
