Obituary for David Earl Borkowski
David Borkowski, 49, of Atlantic, Iowa died Friday morning, April 22, 2005 at the Cass County Memorial Hospital. David was born March 29, 1956 in Audubon, Iowa, the son of Lester LaVern and Thelma (Dittman) Borkowski. He grew up and attended school in Audubon. David was married to Diane Lucille Popp on July 8, 1995 in Atlantic. The couple lived here where David worked as a concreter for the City of Atlantic for the last nine years and for Henningsen Construction for many years. He was a veteran of the United States Army.David liked to fish, was very proud of his garden and his plants, and loved his dog, Rudy very much. Rudy will miss his master taking him for his rides out to see the swans at the quarry.Survivors are his wife, Diane Borkowski of Atlantic; three sons, Kip Spencer and wife, Tori of Audubon, Travis Andersen of Brayton, Jacob Swensen of Audubon; his daughter, Misty Borkowski of Mitchel NE; step-daughter, April Campbell; two grandchildren, Gage Spencer and Hannah Spencer of Audubon; his mother, Thelma Borkowski of Audubon; five sisters, Rita Lakota and husband, Jim Lakota of Goodman, MS, Dolores Gourley of Snyder NE, Gloria Mulford and husband, Gary of Audubon, Lori Hanson and husband, Pete of Audubon, Penny Lafoy and husband, Randy of Audubon; a brother-in-law, Charlie Parkhurst of Harlan; his mother-in-law and father-in-law, Marilyn Blanchard and Mike Blanchard of Atlantic; two brothers-in-law, David Popp and wife, Tammy of Atlantic and Zachary Blanchard and friend, Echo Pope of Omaha NE; his sister-in-law, Frannie Nissen and husband, Dan of Elkhorn; several nieces and nephews and many friends.He was preceded in death by his father, Lester Borkowski; his brother, Donald Borkowski; his sister, Beverly Parkhurst; a sister-in-law, Jayanna Borkowski; his grandparents; his father-in-law, Eugene Popp and his brother-in-law, Gary Allen Popp.
