Mildred Franklin Trainer Bonham
Mildred Franklin Trainer Bonham, 99, formerly of Atlantic, passed away August 1, 2001 in Sugar Hill, Georgia.The daughter of George and Lucy (Swolley) Franklin, Mildred was born January 30, 1902 in Atlantic, Iowa where she grew up and graduated from Atlantic High School. She worked for the U.S. Army finance center for many years. She was a member of the St. John's United Methodist Church in Sandy Springs, Georgia and did a lot of volunteering for the church. Mildred was a member of the National Federation for Business and Professional Women; a lifetime member of Eastern Star Chapter 194; a member of the Salvation Army; American Legion auxiliary for 51 years; and a member of the Mental Health Society. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Anderson, Indiana for over 50 years.Survivors include one daughter, Nancy Trainer Reynolds of Sugar Hill, Georgia; one son Phil S. Trainer of Omaha, Nebraska; six grandchildren, William Gar Reynolds of Canton, Georgia, Suzan Carrie Reynolds of Naples, Florida, Patricia Lilibeth Huffman of Hickory, North Carolina, Kelley Ruth Reynolds of Sandy Springs, Georgia, Marcy Zanka of Omaha, Nebraska and Jim Trainer of Denver, Colorado; two great-grandchildren, Courtney Caroline Skaggs and Allyson Reynolds.She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband's, McWaid Philip Trainer and Edward Bonham; one sister, Evelyn Anderson; and three-step brothers, Percy, Dale and Max Lynch.Funeral InformationGraveside services for Mildred will be held Thursday, August 30, 2001, at 10:30 AM at the Atlantic Cemetery in Atlantic, Iowa with Rev. Sharon Guffey-Lewis of the United Congregational Methodist Church of Lewis officiating.
