Harold Biggs

Harold Blaine Biggs, 73, of Atlantic, Iowa, passed away on Friday, December 14, 2001.The son of George Henry and Julia Ann (Exline) Biggs, Harold was born June 22, 1928 in Anita, Iowa. He graduated from Anita High School in 1946. He married Lena Laura Alff on June 2, 1957. Harold served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War as an Army Engineer Sergeant. He worked for the Cass County Road Department as a heavy equipment operator for 35 years and retired in the fall of 1990. He was a member of the Farm Bureau and Amvets.Surviving are his son Jack L. Biggs, Sr. and daughter-in-law Allura of Atlantic, Iowa; two grandsons, Lenny L. Biggs and wife Tina of Atlantic and Jack L. Biggs, Jr. and wife Cynthia of Des Moines, Iowa; two great-grandchildren, Trina K. Biggs and Spencer L. Biggs; three sisters, Zella Henderson of Stuart, Iowa, Marilyn Jensen of Glenn Ferry, Idaho and Joan Johnson and husband Dennis of Anita, Iowa and a sister-in-law Marcia Biggs of Des Moines, Iowa.He was preceded in death by his parents, George and Julia; his wife Lena; two brothers, Orville and Charles and a sister Frances Reed.Funeral InformationServices for Harold will be held Monday, December 17, 2001, at 10:30 A.M. at the Roland Funeral Home in Atlantic, Iowa with Rev. Allen Hellwege officiating. Interment will be in the Atlantic Cemetery with the Atlantic Veterans Color Guard conducting a military service.
