Betty Belcher

Betty Jane Belcher, 82, a resident of the Atlantic Nursing and Rehab Center in Atlantic, Iowa, passed away there Saturday, November 16, 2002.The daughter of Murray A. "Skeet" and Ollie (Hughes) Preston, Betty was born July 31, 1920 in Atlantic where she grew up and graduated from Atlantic High School with the class of 1938. Betty was united in marriage to Henry Clay Belcher on October 30, 1943 in San Diego, California. She was co-owner and bookkeeper for Atlantic Auto Parts, retiring in June of 1983. Betty was a member of the First United Presbyterian Church in Atlantic.Betty is survived by her husband Clay of Atlantic; one daughter Pam Mills and her husband Charles; one son Doug Belcher and his wife Marcia all of Iowa City, Iowa; four grandchildren, Stacy and Chad Crabtree and Brady and Kyle Belcher; and one sister-in-law, Ada Preston, of Atlantic.She was proceeded in death by her parents and one brother, H.A. "Skeet" Preston.Funeral InformationFuneral services for Betty will be held on Tuesday, November 19, 2002, at the First United Presbyterian Church in Atlantic, Iowa at ll:00 A.M. with Rev. Don Seeger officiating. Interment will be in the Atlantic Cemetery.
