Charlotte Behrends

Charlotte Ann (Myers) Behrends , 68, passed away at the Heritage House Wednesday, February 20, 2008. Charlotte was born in Audubon County, September 13, 1939, the daughter of Leo and Imo (Clemmensen) Myers. Charlotte was baptized and confirmed at Saint Paul"s Lutheran Church in Atlantic, Iowa. She graduated with the Atlantic High School Class of 1958. She was employed by Safeway Zone Office in Omaha until returning to Atlantic in 1960. She married Marvin Behrends on August 13, 1960, at Saint Paul"s Church in Atlantic. Charlotte was active with her Family, Church, 4-H, Scouts, Little League Auxiliary and worked at several downtown retail stores. She is survived by husband Marvin, sons Todd (Vickie) of Clive, IA, Alan (Janet) of Omaha, NE, John (Tammy) of Windsor Heights, IA, daughter, Beth Davenport (Derek) of Adair, IA. Grandchildren, Nicholas and Nathan Behrends, McKenna and Drake Davenport, Emily Clayton, Nicole Seifert and husband Matt. Great-Grandchildren, MiKayla Dirksen and Trenton Seifert. Brother Dale Myers and wife Sheryl and brother-in-law Jack Bell of Atlantic, IA. She was preceded in death by her parents, sister Doris Bell, and her father-in-law and mother-in-law. The family requests memorials are made to Saint Paul"s Lutheran Church or to the Good Samaritan fund at the Heritage House in Atlantic .Funeral services for Charlotte will be held on Monday, February 25, 2008 at the St. Paul"s Lutheran Church at 10:00 AM with Pastor Dennis Meyer and Pastor Sally Meyer officiating. A visitation will be held Sunday evening at the Roland Funeral Home from 6:00 - 8:00PM. Interment will be in the Atlantic Cemetery at 9:00 AM on February 25 for the family.
