Obituary for
Gary L. Baker
Gary Baker, 51, of Atlantic, Iowa, passed away Friday, June 8, 2018, at Immanuel Medical Center in Omaha.
Gary Lee Baker was born on November 12, 1966, in Fullerton, California, the son of Kenneth Eugene Sr. and Melva Adele (Butcher) Baker. He grew up in Fullerton, California, and the family made Atlantic their home in 1983. After high school, Gary worked a short time for Schildberg Construction driving truck.
He was an avid football fan, the Denver Broncos being “his” team, and had recently ordered the mug set representing every team in the NFL. He and his brother were looking forward to going to a game at Mile High Stadium this year. Gary was a “Stone Cold” Steve Austin fan and rarely missed one of his fights. He spent many hours meticulously constructing and painting model cars; the end result was always something he was proud of. Being a Grandpa meant the world to Gary, and he looked forward to spending time with them.
Gary is survived by his son, Cody Baker; daughters, Brittany Baker and Chelsea Baker; seven grandchildren, Kaisen, Mercaideze, Talon, Rayleigh, Dominick, Daltyn and Decari; brother, Kenneth (Mavis) Baker, Jr.; sister, Pam (Russ) Rudy; and nieces and nephews, Rachel (Jason) Fulk, Amanda (Kevin) Maier, Tracey (Clint) Bell, Jason (Carrie) Sellers, Christina Chavez, Ashley (Jimmy) Jennings, and Michael Baker.
