Bertha Bagley

Bertha Lottie Bagley, 88, a longtime resident of Lewis, IA. passed away at the Griswold Care Center on Monday, June 9, 2003 where she has resided since 1999.Bertha was born in Bridgewater, IA, February 20, 1915, to Frank W. and Clara Pauline Croissant Strong. She grew up in the Cumberland and Massena areas and attended school through the 9th grade. She married Carl Lorenzo Bagley on November 24, 1936 in Red Oak, IA. Following their marriage, Carl was a mechanic and worked out of their home in Lewis. Bertha was a fine homemaker who was loved by her family and friends. She was a member of the Lewis Church of Christ and was an active member of the ladies aide. Surviving are a son Donnie Gene Bagley of Lewis: a brother Marvin Strong of the Atlantic Nursing and Rehab Center: a sister-in-law Peggy Strong of Country Haven in Corning, IA and a number of nieces and nephews. Bertha was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Carl; a step-son Gerald Lee Badgley; 4 brothers, Clarence, Clyde, Arthur and Ivan Strong, 2 sisters Mable Becker and Rena Strong at the age of five.Funeral InformationServices for Bertha will be held Thursday, June 12, 2003, at 1:30 P.M. at the Lewis Church of Christ with Pastor Dave Anderson officiating. Interment in the Oakwood Cemetery at Lewis.
