Iva Auerbach

Iva May Auerbach, 75, of Atlantic, passed away Thursday, April 19, 2001 at the Cass County Memorial Hospital.The daughter of Gideon Monroe and Leone Marian (Sands) Chaffee, she was born March 20, 1926 in Atlantic, Iowa. She graduated from Atlantic High School in 1944 and attended Simpson College. Her marriage to Lester Auerbach took place on April 27, 1947 in Atlantic. Following marriage they farmed near Atlantic, Lewis and Fletcher Chapel before moving to Atlantic in 1965. Iva was a member of the United Church of Christ. She volunteered for many years with the Hospital Auxiliary.Surviving are her husband, Lester; two daughters, Joyce Bruggeman and her husband, Charles, of Cedar Rapids, Iowa and Janet Albert and her husband John, also of Cedar Rapids; one son, Richard Auerbach and his wife, Anne, of Rancho Palos Verdes, California. Also surviving are 10 grandchildren, Melissa, Breanne, Robert and Caitlin Bruggeman of Cedar Rapids, Lauren and Jack Albert, also of Cedar Rapids, Mary and John Disbro and Mark and Elizabeth Auerbach of Rancho Palos Verdes.Proceeding her in death were her parents.Funeral InformationServices for Iva were held Tuesday, March 24, 2001, at 10:30 AM at the Roland Funeral Home in Atlantic, Iowa with Reverend Charles J. Downing of the First United Methodist Church offciating.Interment will be in the Atlantic Cemetery at Atlantic, Iowa.
