Dorothy Armstrong

Dorothy J. (Eagan)  Armstrong, 48, of El Paso, Texas, passed away on the afternoon of Friday, August 7, 1987, at Providence Memorial Hospital in El Paso.

The daughter of Elvin Richard and Alberta (Long) Eagen, she was born January 1, 1939, in Atlantic, Iowa.  Dorothy graduated from Atlantic High School in 1957 and then from nurse's training at Jennie Edmundson Hospital in Council Bluffs.  She was a civil service nurse, serving with the United States Army at General William Beaumont Hospital in El Paso, Texas and was also stationed in Germany for several years.  She was married to Frank Ratzlaff and later to Shelton Armstrong.  

She is survived by her mother and step-father, Alberta and Clifford Martindale of Atlantic; two daughters, Jessica Sue Harrison of Spokane, WA and JoElla Armstrong of El Paso, TX; two sons, Richard F. Ratzlaff and his wife, Maria of Alamogordo, NM and Shelton Ralph Armstrong of El Paso, TX; and four grandchildren, Michael, Frank and Richard Ratzlaff and Nicholas Armstrong.

She was preceded in death by her father, Richard Eagan.

Graveside services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, August 18th at the Atlantic Cemetery.  with Robert Lovitt of Anita officiating.
