Shirley Anderson

Shirley Jean Anderson, 62, of Marshalltown, passed away Wednesday, April 11, 2001, at Marshalltown Medical and Surgical Center in Marshalltown after a lengthy illness.She was born October 13, 1938, lived most of her life in Cass County, and graduated from Atlantic High School. On December 15, 1956, she was united in marriage to Phillip Wendell Anderson, Sr. in Atlantic. Mr. Anderson passed away in 1978. She lived much of her married life in the Irwin, Kirkman and Denison areas and later married Dale Gaer of Irwin, who also passed away. She later married Terry McCoy of Atlantic.Surviving are her mother, Nellie Briles Lightle and her husband, David, of Griswold; three daughters, Debra Eaker and her husband, Danny, of Irwin, Dianna Thompson and her husband, Craig, of Irwin, and De Ette Clemons and her husband, Larry, of Manilla; one son, Philip Anderson, Jr. and his wife, Gloria, of Mesa, Arizona; one sister Donna Eblen and her husband, Joe of Lewis; two brothers, Melvin Briles and his wife, DeLila, of Atlantic and Dennis Briles and his wife, Debbie, of Lewis; 11 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; 5 stepbrothers, Tom, Jerry, Jeff, Mike and Marion Winger and their families; and several nieces and nephews.She was preceded in death by her husbands, Philip Anderson, Sr. and Dale Gaer; her father, Raymond Lloyd Briles and Eugène M.Winger; and one cousin, Gary Winchester.Funeral InformationServices for Shirley were held Saturday, April 14, 2001, at the Roland Funeral Home in Atlantic, Iowa with Pastor Guy Fisher of the First Assembly of God Church officiating.Interment was in the Southlawn Memory Gardens at Atlantic, Iowa.
