Shawn Anderson

Shawn Renee Anderson of Atlantic, Iowa, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, June 30, 2008 at the Cass County Memorial Hospital at the age of 38 years. Shawn was born in Atlantic, Iowa to Wayne LeRoy and Kay Louise (Lambertson) Ewing on September 6, 1969. She grew up in Griswold, Iowa and graduated from Griswold High School. She was united in marriage to Mark Allen Anderson on December 8, 1987 in Atlantic, Iowa. The couple was blessed with two children who, along with her husband, family and friends, will remember her as caring and optimistic. Shawn was employed at the Z. C. Sterling Insurance Company in Harlan, Iowa. She was a 4-H leader and attended the Evangelical Free Church in Atlantic. Surviving Shawn are her husband Mark Anderson; one daughter Jennifer, one son Brandon; one sister Tisha Mendenhall of Atlantic and husband Rick, two half sisters, Michelle Williams of Atlantic and Melissa Burg of Huxley, IA; one half brother Mitch Burg and wife Megan of Atlantic; her father Wayne Ewing of Griswold, IA and her mother Kay Nosekabel of Atlantic; a number of nieces and nephews including Spencer and Tanner Anderson, Dylan, Jasmine and Jessica Williams, Kayla Mendenhall and Lia Lillard, all of Atlantic; grandmother Maxine Lambertson of Atlantic; an uncle Weldon Ewing of Griswold and his family; a brother-in-law Chad Anderson and fiance Jenny of Atlantic. Preceding her in death are her great grandmother Gertrude Collier; a great aunt Athelea Heath and grandfather Vernon Lambertson.Funeral InformationServices for Shawn will be held at 2:30 P.M. on Saturday, July 5, at the Roland Funeral Home in Atlantic with Pastor Guy Fisher from the Assembly of God Church in Atlantic officiating. Interment will be in the Griswold Cemetery. There will be an open visitation with family meeting with friends Thursday evening from 6:00 - 8:00 P.M.
