David Anderson

Dave Anderson, 68, long time resident of Atlantic, passed on at Iowa Methodist Hospital in Des Moines, Iowa on Saturday, March 11, 2006.He was born the son of James B. and Florence (Stangl) Anderson in Atlantic, Iowa on May 15, 1937.Dave grew up in Atlantic, and following his school days, he served in the United States Army. He was a construction worker and loved his work as a heavy equipment operator. His hobbies included fishing and camping. Dave will be remembered by his family and friends for a faith and a love that was shown through his giving nature. Dave lived life to the fullest. He was a member of the SS Peter and Paul Catholic Church.He is survived by his son, Rod Anderson and his wife, Dawn of Clive and his grandson, David E. Anderson; four sisters, Mary Ann Shaffer of Atlantic, Cathy Ackerman of Atlantic, Pat Anderson and her husband, Andy of Greenfield, and Susan Benshoof of Atlantic; and a number of nieces and nephews.Dave is preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Jimmy Joe Anderson, Virgil Anderson, Bob "Tex" Anderson and his sister, Lucy Larson.Funeral InformationVisitation: Tuesday, March 14, 10:30A at SS Peter & Paul Catholic Church Funeral: 3/14/2006, 10:30:00 AM Burial: Atlantic Catholic Cemetery
