Alice Jean Shriver of Atlantic, Iowa, passed away Friday afternoon, October 25, 2024, at the Heritage House in Atlantic at the age of 93.
Alice was born February 2, 1931, in Shelby County, Iowa, to Ray and Ethel (Cunningham) Delph. She graduated from Shelby Consolidated Schools.
On November 16, 1952, Alice was united in marriage to Elmer Rudolph Shriver, the son of Earl and Florence (Camendish) Shriver.
In her spare time when not working at Super 8 Motel Alice enjoyed gardening, canning, reading books, quilting, helping Elmer on the farm and loved being with her family.
Survivors include her three children, Vanessa Dreager and her husband, Paul of Atlantic, Craig Shriver and his wife, Vicki of Atlantic and Patty Haupert and her husband, Terry of Menasha, WI; five grandchildren, Michael Dreager of Atlantic, Sarah Swain and her husband, Doug of Griswold, Ryan Dreager and his wife, Brooke of Atlantic, Tracy Almelien and her wife, Erin of Washington, and Victoria Shriver of Atlantic; nine great-grandchildren, Clinton Hansen and his wife, Calley of Audubon, Brett Dreager of Atlantic, Alyson Dreager of Atlantic, Trista Rattenborg and her husband, Jacob of Omaha, NE, Kailey Swain of Griswold, Dylen Dreager of Atlantic, Keagen Dreager of Atlantic, Anders Almelien of Washington, and Ellis Almelien of Washington; one great-great-grandson, Brantley Hansen of Audubon; and sister-in-law, Phyllis Delph of Council Bluffs. Also surviving are several nieces and nephews and other relatives and friends.
Preceding her in death were her parents, husband, Elmer Shriver; daughter-in-law, Anne Shriver; parents-in-law, Earl and Florence Shriver; brothers, Everette and Elmer Delph; sisters and their husbands, Mary and Virgil Henneger, Evelyn and Glen Foster and Lois Delph; brothers-in-law and their wives, Harold and Neta Shriver and Ralph and Irene Shriver; and sisters-in-law and their husbands, Shirley and Wayne Hoover and Lucille and Varrow Miller.
Visitation with the family present will be held from 5:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m., Thursday, October 31, 2024, at Roland Funeral Home in Atlantic.
Memorial services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, November 1, 2024, at the First United Presbyterian Church in Atlantic. Burial will take place prior to the service at 10:00 a.m. at the Wiota Cemetery.
